Sweet, Simple Saturday ~ Jeremiah 29:11

{Dedicated to my beautiful baby sister and all other young people trying to find their way in this often overwhelming world ♥}

“The life of faith is lived one day at a time, and it has to be lived - not always looked forward to as though the 'real' living were around the next corner. It is today for which we are responsible. God still owns tomorrow.”
~ Elisabeth Elliot

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
~Corrie Ten Boom

Praying for you always pretty girl!
May our Lord show you the path, guide your steps, and keep you close.

"I am your anchor, you are my wings..."
Love you :)

Have a blessed and beautiful weekend!

37 Seconds

"...We breathe, we pulse, we regenerate. Our hearts beat, our minds create, our souls ingest. Thirty-seven seconds, well used, is a lifetime.”
~ Suzanne Weyn, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Sometimes it's good to remember that life is fleeting.    That every second counts for something.  It's so easy to forget that.  Especially when we're busy or tired or frustrated.  It's so easy to feel as if we're just spinning our wheels, not really making progress, not really getting anywhere...when in reality life continues.  It moves by blazingly fast.

Then we reflect.  We remember.  We focus on the good.  Revel in the great.  Count the blessings.  These snapshots of our week, these grainy, filtered, imperfect phone photos, capture the seconds and chronicle the moments of our lifetime.  They revive and encourage me.  They are the bits and pieces of each week that remind me to live in the moment.

"In those times we yearn to have more in our lives,
we should dwell on the things we already have.
In doing so, we will often find that our lives
are already full to overflowing."
~ Jim Stovall

We hope you're having a beautiful week and savoring every second!

We Rush Home to Slow Down

Now that the school year is back in full swing and the days are getting shorter, the girls and I take advantage of every moment we get outside together.  We worked all summer to create our own little home on the range, our happy place.  We rush home from school in the afternoons, change our clothes, grab a snack, throw on our boots, race each other outside...and then we slow down.  We breathe.  We unwind.  We escape.  Well...that's what I call it, anyway.  The girls would probably call it something completely different ;)

And if you had told me, several long months ago, that we would be this enamored with chickens, I probably would've laughed.  I knew I wanted to raise chicks and build a cute coop on the edge of our garden, but I had no idea how much I would fall in love with them.  And whatever I feel for these feathered friends is only magnified in my girls.  They are so entertaining...and I can't get over how quickly they are growing up on us.

Our little ladies reached a milestone this week.  Since we moved them outside into their run, I have been heading out each evening before dark to pick them up one by one and place them inside the coop.  I always found them huddled up together near the door of the run.  Last night, for the very first time, I walked out to meet them, and they were not in sight.  They had put themselves to bed.  I almost cried.  I was so proud and a little sad all at the same time.  Crazy Perfectly normal, I know.

We maintain our opinion that chickens are, indeed, a girl's best friend ♥

We hope you're having a beautiful week and finding time to slow down!

Sweet, Simple Sunday

"Life is intricately and intimately linked with Jesus.  In fact, Jesus is life - He said so Himself.  So when we look for life worth living, we must look for it not in happy or heartbreaking circumstances, health, or even relationships.  Life is in Christ."
~ Joni Eareckson Tada

Have a blessed and beautiful day!
