A Happy Bloggy Birthday to My Mischievous Munchkin

March 2010...I fell in love all over again :)

There's this girl, and she's pretty much the biggest mess ever (at least in my world).  She has her Daddy and Paw Paw wrapped around her tiny little fingers while Mommy and Biggi know she's probably hiding something in those tiny little hands ;)  She is her Auntie's pride and joy.  She can be both her sister's best friend and her biggest annoyance.  She is attracted to dirt, chocolate, and all kinds of shiny, girly things.  She is our Ollipop, our Munchkin, our Baby O.

I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures of her through these wild and wonderful three years.  It just so happens, that most of my favorite moments are the candid ones that have been captured quickly and sometimes in a blur with the help of my phone...I can be found many days chasing after my girls with it...and I won't even start on my love for instagram ;)

Happy, Happy Birthday to my sweet, silly, beautiful baby girl!

She is one of our greatest blessings, and I am so thankful for this adorable little life :)

Warm Days & Happy Hearts

Prior to the last few days, we have been teased and tempted with bright sunshine and warm temperatures.  After the long, dark, cold winter months, warmth draws us outside with delight and our bare skin yearns for the rays of the sun as we soak up goodness and feel our spirits rise.

My big girl and I  took advantage of the lovely days and did a little exploring around our family farm.  I have been surrounded my entire life by hard working people who love and work the land.  Farming is difficult, laborious, and not for the faint hearted.  There is no off season.  I have watched my dad carry the burdens of it.  It is a life he loves.  It is a heritage for which I am thankful.

I have always loved growing up on a farm.  I love wide open spaces, freedom to explore, and  the peace of it all.  I always wanted my children to grow up like I did.  Roaming through fields, fishing in ponds, scooping tadpoles into jars and keeping them until they grew into frogs.  I cherish it all...but I sometimes forget how dirty it can be.  What is it about kids and mud?  or dogs and mud?

No amount of begging could convince me that my girl needed to plow right through this mud hole.  She was determined to try...but I had a little more control of her than I did the dog ;)

I just adore the old equipment and barns.

I love seeing life come back again...

And then, there's today...sleet, snow, freezing temperatures.  I'm not even kidding...sigh.
But I am hanging on for warmer days ahead :)

Happy Spring!
Have a great week!

Sweet, Simple Saturday ~ In Honor of Mom

I created this for my beautiful mom who celebrates her birthday tomorrow!  I am so thankful for another blessed year with her by my side ♥ God is so good!

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies...
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come...
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her...
Give her the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."
~Proverbs 31:10, 25, 28, & 31

I love this lady :)

Thanks for joining me in celebration today,
Have a wonderful weekend dear reader!

In Remembrance of a Gentle, Beautiful Life

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
~ John 14:1-3

"On a hill far away, stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it some day for a crown."

A week ago, we said goodbye to my beloved Grandpa, and we miss him dearly.  He was my Pappy and the girls' Papa Z.  He was my mom's Daddy, and he was a faithful man who loved his family and the Lord.  In a most beautiful and moving service, we celebrated  a humble man who was loved, respected, and appreciated by so many.  With five children, thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren (two more on the way), he had always hoped to see his family fill the church pews.  On that bright, windy Friday afternoon...we did.  And we sang, we cried, we took comfort in the promise that he was in glory with our Savior and Lord and the love of his life ♥ my cherished Grandma.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
~ Romans 8:38 &39

I am so thankful for every precious moment we had with him, the memories I cling to, and the legacy he leaves behind.

I just want to thank each and every dear friend for your thoughts, prayers, and sweet comments.  I have not had a chance to respond to each one, but I want you to know that they meant so much to me, and I'm so grateful!  Have a blessed and beautiful weekend!

Sweet, Simple Sunday

"Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home."

Praying for my dear, sweet Grandpa today.
May the Lord wrap him in His loving arms
and bring him comfort and peace.
And thanking God for such a gentle, faithful man
and every moment we have had with him ♥
