Snow Day!

We enjoyed our first snow of the winter, and the girls were ecstatic!  We (and by we, I mean me) did not even get to sleep in on our first official snow day.  The girls were up before the sun and ready to head out into the white wonderland.  Getting little ones dressed to play in the snow takes more energy than actually playing in the snow itself {in my opinion}.  There was even a meltdown (child not snow) before we managed to take a step outside.  We finally bundled ourselves up, headed outside, and spent all of fifteen minutes enjoying the freezing goodness before little girlies started getting cold and wet ;)
A few snapshots from our wintry morning:

Then we headed back inside for all things warm, cozy, and chocolatey :)

Hope you had a fun weekend!

  8. I definitely agree. It takes way more time to get them ready than when they are out there. But it's worth it!

  9. That would be me too, 15 minutes and over it :) I love to look at the beautiful snow but prefer to do it from the warm of my house gazing out my window :)

  10. How fun. In my Miscellany Monday my daughter is wearing a penguin hat that has a bow on it (it's hard to see though. It's just a camera phone shot).

  11. oh man, that is so right on. it takes way more work to get the kids bundled and out the door and then clean up all the soggy, drippy mess afterwards than it's worth. we lived in the "snow belt" of upstate NY for 8 years while my kids were in that stage where they ALL needed assistance, and i eventually wondered if i would come out of those years with my sanity intact. :)
glad you got some good pics, anyway. that's about all you can hope for, i think, before the whining settles in with the cold fingers and runny noses.
enjoying it from *inside* this year! ;)

  12. Snow is so pretty while it's fresh, but I'm so glad we seldom almost never get any here. I love seeing pics of it though.

  13. Oh those pictures are too precious for words! It sounds just like our first (and only ever in my sweet kids lives) snow day. From the up before the sun to the hot chocolate after. I felt like I was reliving it with you. Thanks for sharing the day with us!!!! :)
